Decided on the new Tokico's and H&K springs for a 1.5 inch drop, now onto the rest of the suspension. I'm not planning on racing my 97 i30, I take massive road trips all year and want a firmer ride that is more fun but not uncomfortable. I'd like to shift lanes with great control, take turns without rolling the car over as it does now and whatnot. Is the rear sway bar necessary for me? Should I just install front and rear strut tower braces instead and save the money the rear sway bar?

Also, I have no install skills whatsoever. How much do these things cost to get installed? Should I go to a Nissan or Infiniti dealer garage?

Thanks,
mark

EASY ROAD TRIP

I think RSTB and FSTB is good enough for the "easy road trip", but you want the best out of it, you have to get RSB along with the others. do you really want nissan to charge you $75 bucks to lose 12 bolt?

To a great extent, this is a matter of personal preference. The new springs are stiffer, will reduce body roll and make things like lane changes snappier. The strut bars will also take slop out of the handling. After you've made these changes see how the car handles. It will probably be fine for what you want without the RSB.

Agreed. - It is personal preference.

For you, on road trips, the rear sway bar won't make that much difference and won't really harm the ride at all.
Your car will corner flatter. No more body lean.
The driving enhancement is wonderful. As good as the FSTB.
Exit ramps and cloverleafs -you will take at ridiculous speeds because the car will become that much more stable.
And if you can screw in a light bulb, you can put this bar on. I'm mecahnically challenged and it took about 20 minutes. (10 minutes were spent in Autozone getting the allen wrench kit for $3).

My recommendation - buy it - try it - if you don't like it it's easy to sell - probably to someone here if not on Ebay.
But I think you'll wanna keep it.

Just my 2 cents.

Rear Sway Bar

I think you definitely need a rear sway bar! My boyfriend and I both have 96 Maximas. He has a sway bar and I don't. There is a big difference. I love taking road trips in his, especially on really curvy roads and on ramps and clovers! There is no body lean in his.
I plan on getting one soon!
