Climate control lights kept blinking, now they won't come on

I just recently noticed that my climate control lights go on and off on my 95 maxima GXE. At first they started blinking. Now they come on when I first start the car at night. After a while they go off. When I hit or tap the climate control area, the lights come back on temporarily. Should I just change the bulbs? If so, can I get the bulbs from any autostore like PepBoys? Or should I just replce the bulbs with blue leds? Does anyone have a write up on that? Thanks in advance.

It could be your dimmer switch, that could be bad. you should paly around with the dimmer switch and see if it makes a difference. if you see the lights come on when you tap the dimmer switch. then you might have to replace that. i dont think all the bubls will go bad at the same time on your climate pannel. good luck......

Thanks. I'll try it tonight. I was able to find a how-to on replacing the bulbs through search, but I'll definitely check the dimmer switch tonight.

Update

The dimmer is fine. It's weird ,though. All the lights on the climate control come on. It's the lights for the different selections on the AC and heating panel that gives me problems. It will still come on, then go off for a while, then come back on. I don't know if the bulb is acting like that. I would think that part wouldn't come on at all. Could it be a fuse? Luckily, my dad has a spare climate control unit in the garage. However, I want that to be a last resort. 95emeraldgxe, how would I check the ground? Is ther a black wire behind the unit?

Then it sounds like a loose cable. the cable that powers up all the lights to your climate control

Whenever they start to flicker on and off, it's a sign that their life is soon to expire. Eventually, they'll burn out. That's what happened to mine. Changing these bulbs take some time, because once you get the unit out, you have to get to the circuit board to replace these bulbs. It's almost like a puzzle because all the ***** will have to be "popped out" and all the pieces behind that! Just make sure you remember how you disassembled the unit, and you'll save some time in putting it all together.
