Disable airbags before instaliing reverse gauges?

what´s up guys, well at last im ready to install my superwhite gauges from procarparts.com, i was reading my haynes manual and theres a chapter where is saying "disable the airbags system, before working near the srs system componenets or related"

does anybody done this work, before made this process? or just remove the cluster and do the rest? I dont want to be killed with my airbags ejejeje

yeah seriously, you don't want to end up like that chick in final destination 2. Disable them, it's one of those "just in case" things.

There is no need to disable the airbags unless you are modifying in and out of the steering wheel. The Hayne's manual just suggests this as a precaution. I've worked around the dash cluster a number of times and never had a problem. Just disconnect the battery before you do the install to avoid any shorts. It's a pain in the a** if you happen to shorten something out, and then figure out where the short is.

na you dont have to disable them, ive done 2 sets of gauges, one on the 96 and one on the 97 and i didnt have to disable anything, You should follow these instruction from maximadriver.com, i used them and i think they are great. click on this link http://www.seas.ucla.edu/%7Echeston/...loinstall.html
