Signs of bad master cylinder

Hi, I usually use the Search funcion, but since its disabled I had to post. Can anyone tell me what signs to look for with a bad or faulty master cylinder for the brake system.

Thanks in advance!

Besides leaks, one failure mode is that while you're holding
the brake pedal down, it will sink slowly to the floor. Before
I replaced the MC in my daughters Rabbit, the pedal would sink
to the floor if I gave it a moderate force, but remain up if
pressed hard. Your pedal could sink to the foor for other
reasons as well, such as a leak.
