I lost to an extensively modded Honda Prelude yesterday. Music was too loud to listen for blow off valves, but he did have a lot of high-end power.

The high end power you saw is VTech.. Those guys can still pull like a **** on top end

 

Ill tell u how to take em (from personal experience).

What u do is start off slow like from a traffic light. Wait till 3k RPMS drop it in 2nd go to 6.5RPM and throw in D ...wait till 5k RPM and throw off O/D go to the end and then put O/D on...by this time ur couple cars ahead

 

i dont think it's so much that people are saying they beat every car they race, but they only post what they win. why would you go around telling people about how you got beat?

 

If they did post when they lost, then it would show the limitations of the car in it's current state of tune (whatever mods and such). But who would want to admit their weaknesses?

What is so hard to believe? The MAXIMA is God's chariot and the fastest thing on 4 wheels. Just ask Russ, he'll vouch for that assertion (at least during the 1.5 year span that he had his).

i raced a 96 v6 stang last night twice. i didnt make a new thread because its obvious who shold win every time. but it is fun to make 16 year old kids mad when a 4 door smokes them.

 

oh yeah, and a "Best (same day) 1/4 ET 14.9942 @ 94.39" from a 6spd vq35 would make me feel a lot better... i ran that stock on my pathetic little 5spd "3.0"

i'll admit i have lost, even with turbo - but i have no regrets or whatever about either. 9sec s/c t/a and a cbr929.

and like they said, who brags about losses?

I had a "cherry" 86' Mustang SVO w/ minor mod's (intake, exhaust, 3.73 gearing, etc.) and raced a Dodge Omni GLHS.

I absolutely got my **** handed to me. I don't think he sprayed, but it had to of been heavely modded. Those GLHS's aren't slow, but this guy left me like I was in neutral!

Just think... A Dodge Omni that might keep up w/ a Dodge Viper!

Well I was coming home from class today when I came across a this:


You don't see too many of these beauties on the road, so I thought I would mess with it. Well I armed my 250 shot and got besides him at roughly 70mph. I them gave him the "nod" and downshifted into third. Once my VI kicked in, I really started pulling and by the time I hit 130 I had probably pulled 3+ cars, so I let off the gas and guess what.....He did a ricer fly buy. Yes, even owners of Exotic cars feel the need to do a fly buy every once in a while.

 

My mighty Superbug has lost to plenty of cars at the strip, but I've made kills on plenty of things that never gave me a chance. As long as my clutch holds, I can beat all stock Vipers, Corvettes, S/C Cobra Mustangs, and so on. Too bad I'm pretty much maxed out (well, maxed out and still able to be street legal/drivable, that is). So if you ever see a Guards Red '72 Superbeetle at the track here in GA, don't laugh It may get offended !

 

I really did race a CLK 430 (non amg), and I really did win by a fender or so..

I mean if somebody said they raced Ferrari or Porcshe I understand it will be BS.

But GS430, or Mustang GT, a properly driven 6-speed Max can run with them no problems and can beat them too.

Raced a 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan on the way home (wife was driving). Got smoked. I was in a 1988 Max. Do you believe this? You should.

 

It seems like second gear sucks on my max, (auto though) i haul *** but as soon as it goes into 2nd the car dies! i hate that

 

i disagee. i raced a new altima 2.5 5 speed from a light. i wasnt planning on racing him but i heard him peel out so it was on. i had 2 people plus me in the car and by the begninning of 2nd gear i was next to him and 2 seconds later i was flying by. i think 2nd gear is fine.

 

He was most likely running nitrous, that'd give you LOTS of high end on top of the so called vtec power.

 

I think second is the killer...

 

I got my azz handed to me by a F-40 last year.

It was fun, tho.
