What mods do you have on you Dodge if you saying it is faster than your Max?

My '02 Dakota CC 4.7L V8 has the Jeep HO Cam and Intake, a 70mm TB (up from the original 68/65mm), colder plugs (Autolite 3923's), 180 T-stat, WAI, true dual exhaust w/ removed primary cat, KB Optimizer II, IAT Adjuster, TPS set to .76 VDC, and new and improved ported stock 4.7L heads. It ran 14.52@94.2 at Silver Dollar (It's a good .3 faster than Commerce)on stock Goodyear LS 255/65-16's (oh yeah, I have Toyo Proxes ST 275/60-16's now), and that was before the ported heads and new TB (old one was a custom stock ported job).
And I just ordered drag wheels and am about to order MT ET Streets for the wheels.
Upcoming mods are a custom turbo setup (or a one off Kenne Bell S/C...still debating the two), ported Jeep HO Heads with larger valves (current ones are 1.89" intake and 1.46" exhaust), another style single outlet exhaust w/ custom long tube headers, and a modified suspension kit (Maybe Hotchkis, depends). So I'm about 40% complete with the mods on my truck. It's fast for a 4200 LB vehicle (that's with driver and spare tire). It ran 15.6 @ 87.8 the second week I owned it. It's not too shabby for a $19,500 truck.

What happened to REAL racing? Quarter miles are for dragsters! I haven't modded my car yet (tough to get s.hit for a 86 anyway) but I would love to race road courses. That is where the performance of your modded Maxima truly stand out.
I really like to see a modded Maxima post a 13 sec run @ 113mph around a hairpin turn or a 45 degree chicane.....

I LOVE racing stories!
I was thorouthlly spanked by a Newer Camaro/Firebird WS6 or somethiing, while getting on the freeway.
I have a 2K 5 speed, and was rolling right in the sweet spot of the RPM range (4K in third gear)on the ramp, knowing that this guy was wanting to blow my doors off due to our escapades getting to the ramp. I took third gear from something like 60mph to close to 100, then shifted into 4th. He did not have a jump on me when I nailed it, and by the time I was shifting into 4th, he was well on his way to blowing by me at a pretty good speed differential (20+MPH).
That is my best a** whoopin story where I was the one being whooped.
I have also driven my Maxima at a couple or tracks (Pacific Raceways and Portland International)once at each track while my real track car was being fixed, and had to get used to being passed.
I was pretty impressed with the Maximas ability to keep up, but there were only a few I could pass, such as Audi's, certain BMW's, and the occasional 911. I recieved comments from several people driving at the track about their surprise as to the Maximas ability to handle itself on the track. I was kind of surprised too. While my only suspension mods at the time were 18" wheels with Kumho's, and H&R springs, It stuck pretty well, albiet with quite alot of tire squeal and body roll. Even with such, it was good fun!
Good thread! I am more a viewer than a poster of threads, but I'm working on it!

I think if you manually shift you GLE you can get similar times, I remember somebody ran 14.4 in the GLE, not sure if it was stock or not.

i have given up on my beautiful AE maxima(its retired)...my biggest' raping ever was against a 98'SVT cobra. WoW!
My G35 has a 6-1 record...
i have beaten a supercharged Harley by 2 cars...he thought he was the **** when i pulled next to him..it was really funny
i have raced a Mr2 Running 18 lbs of boost..got smoked from a 20mph roll, but i beat him by a nose from a start (he had little tread on his tires)
and the strangest kill was when i raced a 2003 G35 (my Friends)...i beat him by 2 cars and he has a 1/2 car lead!!!!!???? Figure that one out?????
