If you have a 5-speed, is it worth it to upgrade the computer chip in it? If so, approximately how much will it cost and what are the risks, if any? I've heard that an ECU upgrade doesn't do anything really for a 5-speed, but does a lot for an auto. Please correct me if I'm wrong?

 

Basically the only 3 mods that really make a difference aside from nitrous is CAI, JWT ECU and the Y pipe. All others pale in comparison.

 

I agree the chip should be the last mod to be done to take advantage of all other mods. There are at least three chips out there for the Max's: Jet, JWT, Superchips. You'll hear good and bad things about each. Do the research and ask around. I've heard as many good things about JWT as I have bad. I'm looking into Superchips but still don't know myself which one.
