Question about brake pads....

I need to replace the brake pads on my 98 Max SE, I was looking at the Axxis Metal Master pads, are they really worth it or should I just go with some cheaper generic brand from like Pep Boys or something... Any suggestions ??

how do the lifetime warranty work? Do you get free replacements if you run out of the pads or something? haha i dunno, probably a stupid question.

If you can afford them, go with OEM Nissan pads. I have tried several brands and have found none to be as good as Nissans when it come sto dust and stopping power.

Just my opinion...

you go back to the store.. buy another set.. change them.. bring back the old pads(same brand w/ warranty from before) and get your money back..

i went with the Albany pads from Advance Auto Parts.. they stop the car and they are free replacement i can't really complain..

any significant difference i am looking for won't be made up in some fancy aftermarket pad.. what.. its going to make me stop 1 shorter?

other wise i am going big brakes..

I agree w/ you, i just need something practical and efficient for stopping. I will look out for lifetime warranty pads! Thanks

I still have the big brakes, well the 300ZX brakes, and I am also on the Albany pads from Autozone. Hell, with free replacement, I am not complaining. And believe me, these brakes STOP the car. Ask my brother, I just threw his head into the back of my seat when I stopped hard for a "traffic reason", he is now wishing I didn't have the 300ZX brakes lol....

If you want to go with an aftermarket pad. Try EBC Green Stuff. It's a very good performance street pad. No need to warm up the EBCs. The Metal Masters need to be warmed up a bit before they really bite. I do have the metal masters on my car now and I plan to go with something else after they are gone. I may got back to EBC. The metal masters stop the car very well though. Initial bite isn't all that great though.

I got Raybestos QuietStop from Pep Boys. They are very quiet and efficient. Highly recommend them. No noise and very clean.
