To Buy A '93 W/ A Bad Tranny?

I'M CONSIDERING BUYING A 93. THE OWNER SAYS IT WON'T SHIFT PAST 2ND. HE WAS TOLD THAT IT NEEDED A CLUTCH PACK, AND WAS ENCOURAGED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. HE KNOWS SOMEONE THAT WILL WARRANTEE A REPLACEMENT TRANNY FOR 1K. HE ONLY WANTS $750. IS IT WORTH IT? THANKS FOR YOUR OPINION.

THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE CHRIS.
IT DOES NEED A LITTLE BODY WORK ON THE REAR QUARTERS FROM COLLISION DAMAGE, DRIVER'S SEAT NEEDS RECOVERED, AND THE DRIVER'S WINDOW WONT STAY UP. OTHERWISE I THINK IT'S IN GOOD SHAPE. I'M GOING TO CHECK IT OUT TOMORROW.
