straight pipe vs. catalytic converter
straight pipe vs. catalytic converter
does anyone remember seeing "test pipes" on ebay for somewhere around 40 bucks? it was sold as a direct-fit, off-road (in a maxima?
) replacement for your cat. did anyone here buy one of those things, like i did, and does anyone know how much of a power gain you would get by having a straight pipe over getting a relatively decent aftermarket cat. thanks for reading.

My cat. was clogged too and I'm waiting to get a high-flow cat. Right now, I've just got a regular piece of $5 piping up there right now and it does fine? The only real problem w/ it is that the exhaust reeks up my garage and it somewhat bangs up and down, but, not much? I too noticed a slight power gain?
