Indiglo Gauge Wiring Question

I installed a set of indiglo gauges over the weekend. Everything works like it's supposed to. I hooked up the (+) from the indiglos to the cigarett lighter (+). The problem is that the gauges are on all the time.

Does anyone know of a wire that only gets power when the clear corners are turn on? If you can provide me with the color and location of that wire, I would greatly apprecitated.

Thanks, Jason.

I looked for that bulb, but I didn't find it. I think my cig. lighter does not have it. My car is a 1989, so i'm thinking that year it was not offer

My '90 didn't have the cigarette light, but my '92 does. The '90 had a light above the stereo instead.. Maybe yours has this? If not, there are plenty of other sources for +12V when lights are on. Possibly the ashtray?

Hmm.... my car has both, as does every 3rd gen I've seen so far (at least that I've noticed). There should be a little ring around the cigarette lighter that lights up when the lights are turned on. My car is an 89 SE and has it. IF not, then just wire it up to ANY light that only comes on when the parking/head lights are turned on. That should work fine.

there is a red wire with yellow stripe on it that goes in to ALL the switches in the dash that light up. Easiest place to get it is at the defrost, fog, dimmer, or cruise switches in that panel right around the steering wheel
