tinted out tails...post pics here please

so...how many people have their 4th gen tail lights tinted out? particularly 95/96's...i have altezzas(no comments please) and am considering going back to stocks until red/clears are available or whatever. so i might tint my stock tails and see how it looks. although i'm not sure if it'll look funny cuz my car is white. well...post pics if you have any.

soon2bmaxed,
nice looking ride. are they tinted in the first pic or is it just shadow? i'm talking about the tint spray that darkens them. although i have considered that too.

Tail Light Process

pretty easy...3 coats of testors transparent spray candy apple red on all red portions. let that dry overnight, followed with 2 coats of testors transparent tint/smoke spray. while i was spraying the smoke the lenses looked like they were going to be black, but much to my liking they turned out the perfect shade.

im not a fan of tinted tails (maybe on a black one), but i am a fan of tinted AE style headlights. I wonder how they would look on a sunlit sand max, i think theres a pic floating around here of one...

Check out my homepage for pics of red painted turn signals and smoked reverse lights. I need to update my pics because now my turn signals are smoked too so the whole upper half of the taillight is smoked.

It's was pretty easy to do. The only hard part is getting the clearance lights out. You pretty much need to pull the headlights out, and heat them up with a heat gun. One you do that, and then you need to mask the area where you don't want paint to get too. I used flat black paint, and gave it a few coats and let dry. Once dry, just heat up the lens again, and the housing and join the two pieces together.
