viper alarm installed with 11 extra miles???

Yes that right i always write down mileage down before bringing my car in anywhere, and after they installed the alarm i look down and find 11 extra miles. I question them (3 punk kids behind counter) and they claim it didn't happen, i argue with manager and got know where.

Guess i should of got the hint when one of the kids asked me how much HP my car had when i dropped it off

Stand out front on the sidewalk with a big sign saying "DO NOT SHOP HERE"..

They can't do anything to you and will probably offer some kind of compensation to make you stop it.. just don't let them work on your vehicle again else they might do something bad like cut your brake lines..

wow... I always note the odometer and the "A" odometer trip reading and reset the "B" reading so I get an exact readout of how far my car went when I drop it off... it would be near impossible for them to match both trip meters again if they notice I may be watching...

I've just never thought of what I'd do if they actually DID take it for a cruise! Its to late to go back and complain now I think... At the time it happened I would have had the manager/owner get his **** over there and it wouldn't have been pretty...

Pickiting on private property is still tresspassing, though. Get a permit and do it on public property right in front of the store...

Let it go dude... Don't picket... If they were ballsey enough to drive your car, they are ballsy enough to find your car later and trash it. Then what do you do? Sounds lame, but call the BBB... If they contact the buisness owner about it it may save someone else from the same fate.... I don't even like leaving my car at the dealer. I always mark mileage too...

I left my car w/ a valet here in Miami at the Fortune House Hotel. 34 extra miles. I was gonna kill someone, until I met the General Manager. He gave me money for a full tank of premium and a nice sum of cash (a lot of cash actually), not to mention a refund for my stay. I wasnt too mad after that.

You keeping a note of your mileage is good, but it leads to what you're experiencing now... you have to fight and make someone believe it happened.

This is exactly why I have a manager, service person, etc. note the mileage on the work order and initial it. They don't f- with your car if they sign off on the mileage. And if the repair requires them to drive it, I know if they did... like brakes. I'd expect them to put a mile on the car if they did brake work, but not if they did adjusted my sun roof (or installed an alarm).

Exaclty!!! I ALWAYS note my mileage with them there. I also let them know that everything is in perfect working order. If they balk, I offer to take them out for a quick ride to show 'em.

I had a bud with a sports car get it back with a slipping clutch. He ate it.

My other car is a modded turbo talon. Lotta power. It was recent;y hit and I had to leave it at a body shop. I walked out to the car with the manager and had him write the "check-in" mileage on my file. Also noted no mechanical problems with the car. I made a mental note of where the gas gauge was sitting. 3 weeks later there were no miles put on the car and the gas gauge was right where I left it.

So make it a point to document the mileage with the manager, then there is no dispute.

As for this, I would just contact the BBB. nothing you can do now but put it behind you.
