New Car Maxima Heaven!!!

Hi Maxima.org people. Finally picked up the new 2003 Max SE 6spd yesterday!!! I've died and gone to Maxima heaven! What a beautiful ride...solid...smooth shift. Let me tell you though, I have never been more nervous driving like I was yesterday after picking up the car. Being my first new car (previous car was a 93 Honda civic), I was terrified. Drove in to work this morning...still nervous.

With all the snow melting up here in Toronto, it is not taking long for the shinny new BLACK car to get all spotted up....that's okay, something I will have to learn to live with.

Thanks again for all the info. you guys and gals are posting on the org.

Welcome KMV...

I have a black 2001 AE, so I know what you mean about the black finish disappearing really quickly on Toronto streets. If I wash it, the next day it is white with salt again

Oh I hear ya'. No salt, etc. down here, but plenty of morning dew/mist, dust, bug guts, etc.

When she is clean, she is beautiful...shame it is a fleeting thing.

I work at a woodworking facility, and as you can imagine there is a lot of sawdust produced and released into the air every day. When i leave the parking lot my pearl white has taken a brown tint, like those explorers with the pearl paint job. It sucks.

OH congratulations on the new max. . ..

congrats on your purchase. Please let us know if your "canadian model" has the hesitation problem. If so, perhaps you can call and complain at Nissan Canada.

They don't seem to want to budge on the issue since not enough people are reporting the problem.

Yeah, the problem with having a black Max in Toronto (mine is a 2k GXE auto)...went throught the wash yesterday and my car was filthy only a couple hrs later...come on summer!!! I'm wasting so much money on car washes this winter.

BTW...can any of our YYZ members here reccomend a good dealer for their service dept (I bought my Max used). I hear Dermac is good but they are too far away.
