help, my tire got a cancer bump

My tire was running low on air and then I hit a series of big potholes (philly roads and it was dark and rainy). So I pulled into a gas station and started filling my tires back up and then I noticed there's a weird protruding bump on my tire. What is it? Did I banged something up when I hit them potholes?

My fried that is a possibilty, (im not saying it will) but I would not risk testing how long it will last. I personally would get it replaced asap.

I had a cancer bump on one of my michelin mxv's on my Jaguar.
I was driving at about 75 and my car was wobbling then the tires rubber started to peal off. I kinda lost control. Luckily no one was nearby when this happened. I pulled over and sat in the car for a minute without moving. I was in shock. Finally I got out to look at the tire. I thought the rim would be all banged up but the tire was still inflated. 10 seconds later it popped and lost all air. There were small steel wires coming out of the tire from where the rubber had pealed off. It was a good thing I had a spare. I had to change the tires in my Blue Air Force Dress Uniform. It was hot as heck and no one stopped to help.

You should get a new tire quickly or don't go over 40 mph.

btw were exactly is the lump? On the sidewill I would expect is were most lumps pop out of. If you have (im sure you do) a spare then toss the spare on until you get the new tire. Dont risk it, just play it safe and toss on the spare for the time being.

I had a couple bumps on the sides. The tire specialist told me that those are the tires strong spots. I also had one on the tread pattern. That one is not good to have. I says Danger all over it!

Depend on how much they are gonna charge you for mounting and balance, and disposal of the old tire ect.. I dont know the specs of your tires so I can accuratly answer that question but considering that Pirelli isnt a cheap brand ill just throw out $175-200 topps out the door.

I always keep an extra $1-2K around just incase dumb **** like this comes up. I dont really need that much but you never know, recently I dug into it and got 4new tires and a suspension so its down to around 1K now.
