Has anyone actually dyno'd before and after a catback exhaust?

In all my time here I've never seen a reliable before and after dyno of a catback exhaust. Anyone? I want to see quantifiable numbers here not the typical "it will give you about 3hp" response.

well then the gain cannot be credited to the catback alone then..cuz u had the cai to help...even tho u prob dyno one w/ cai and another w/ cai and catback...but that's not a comparison if we are speaking of catback gain alone...

I'm not worried about the catback gain alone, I've got lots of other mods. I just wanted to see if anyone had dyno'd directly before and after the installation of a catback system on an N/A car.

well that wouldn't tell much other then the fact that u'll knoe u'll get some gain...cuz in combination w/ other mods the addition of a catback hp gain could vary...let's say a stock max dyno 165whp...then w/ a catback it gets 170whp...that u can conclude that u get 5whp from catback ALONE...but let's say u dyno a max w/ cai and get 170whp...then u dyno w/ cai and catback and u get 180whp...that does not say that catback will give u 10whp...it says that cars w/ cai already can see an additional 10whp gain w/ catback...u knoe wat i'm sayin??? blah...i'm just babbling...

Yes you are.

You can never really extrapolate data across different mods. Comparing cars at different mod stages is very difficult, but a documented gain is still a documented gain. Your mileage may vary, but you can expect to gain a similiar hp +/- some. It's up to the buyer to decide if it's worth it.

Yeah, I gotcha... basically, mods work together and add more hp.. ie. you will get more power from a CAI and a catback together, as opposed to adding the numbers (increased hp/tq) you got from a catback alone to the numbers from a CAI alone. hmm I hope that made sense

if you're worried about seeing a gain, my ghetto exhaust with test pipe was able to run consistently higher mph and faster ETs. of course i did the pulley at the same time. they all help. you can only see the gains on the timeslip however. you can feel the engine revving quicker with better throttle response as well.

I understood you just fine, but that wasn't my question. I wanted quantifiable numbers from before and after a catback exhaust. I didn't need help on the theory behind synergy of mods, i.e. mods working better together than they do individually, I wanted to see numbers before and after a catback exhaust. Now I've seen them and I'm happy.

+12hp, +15tq with just a Stillen Exhaust and WSP B-Pipe "Fix"

But I'm boosted, so it's different.
