93 GLE number of pad shims
93 GLE number of pad shims
On the 93 Maxima GLE front disc/rear drum without ABS, what is the shim arrangement? Any pictures or diagrams? I think it's two shims on the piston side and one shim on the other side. Or is it three shims on the piston and one on the other side?
Who sell the extra shims? Nissan's price is ~$35? Reusing one set, was bad -- had to redo it cause of the noise and vibration after stopping. Using only one new one on each side, was quiet but bad.

. The sims are just to reduce squeal. I got a new set when I bought my pads...there should actually just be one shim per pad at least thats the way it was on my old pads and new ones. Maybe the factory brakes were different but not sure. You can get new pads with shims for a little more than $35.
here is a pic of the ones I got
and here is where I got them (I think)it may not go straignt to them though they are ACT Ceramic and are great brakes for normal driving...little dust and quiet. Now I dont drive like a mad man like some others do so not sure how they do as far as wear or fade but like I said for normal driving they are great and little dusting.
