Need advice, thinking of installing intake system...

Hello, new here so I'm sure this is an old subject but the search doesn't work. I have an '02 SE.

1) Frankencar, Injen, or other (or don't waste your money)
2) Is this an easy do-it-yourself job. (I'm mechanically inclined but never really worked under the hood of a car)
3) Apex or K&N filter (what's the big difference anyway? besides price)

I would appreciate any help. If anyone has had direct experience with actual comparison between intakes, that would be very helpful also.

Thanks in advance

Oh, and any more tips you would like to throw in would be great too!

Yes, this subject has been beat to death, but I'll help as best I can.

It is my understanding that the best intake mod for the 2K2 is the GAB- ghetto air box.

Apexis are dry filters, K&N are oiled. There is much debate as to which one is better. Personally, I like the K&Ns.

An intake install is pretty easy and instructions are available at Frankencar.com. If you do get an intake, I would get that one.

I'm not mechanically inclined nor have I ever worked under the hood of a car before... but I installed it myself (with the help of the .org) with no problems. It was fun.
