Power steering fluid Nissan vs. normal PSF

Is there any difference between Nissan power steering fluid and regular American PSF? Are most American PSF all the same? Any rating system?

not sure about your question but in the service manual (and owners manual I think) it recommends using ATF for PS fluid

I recently put in mobile 1 synthetic ATF. One quart allowed me to change the reservoir fluid twice.

FSM says Dexron II-E ATF or Genuine Nissan ATF. There are a lot of different types of ATF out there. Dexron III will work just fine. You will no longer be able to find II-E, III is the current rating.
