Has anyone had a problem with the brakes on the 2001 Maxima?
I notice that when the weather turns cold (below freezing), they groan at startup. I am wondering whether I will wear pads, rotors and calipers prematurely on this car. I see several tsb's on brakes but they appear vague. Of course, the dealer tells me that the brakes are perfect.arial

 

There are a countless list of people that have had warped rotors on the 5gs, I think there's a sticky in the FAQ about the problem. The dealer should fix it free, but some dealers are real jackholes when it comes to TSBs.

 

I dunno about in cold conditions, but in tropical climates my 2K GLE produces significant judder when on a long downgrade (3-5 miles) usually from about 60mph down to 40 or so over a mile stretch. The steering wheel rattle causes my watch and my whole upper body to rattle. I did a brake upgrade rather than having to take it in all the time.
