Exhaust Rattle

Hey I am looking for some advise on a problem. I am getting a rattle in my exhaust where the midpipe knocks up against the control arm (due to the custom y pipe slightly changing the angle of the midpipe). Anyway I am trying to find something that can act as a cushion to reduce the horrible rattle. This needs to be soft, to dampen the sound, yet heat resistant because it will sit right on the ehaust pipe. I've tried header/exhaust wrap, but it doesn't really help. Any other suggestions?

I spoke To a guy at warpspeed, you should get your pipe replaced, its bent at the wrong angle. I'm still waiting on him to send me my new one (whenever it gets fitted he said). Take off the brackets for the time being

I used exhaust wrap in the same place you're talking about and it helped. I also did a little rigging with some hose clamps. What I did was take some hose clamps and wrapped them around each of the rubber grommets that the exhaust hangs from. Then I tightned each hose clamp as necessary to slightly raise the exhaust system. It worked. I think meccanoble did the same for his OBX catback system also.

So basically you encircled the gromets with the clamp, and then tightened them, therefore reducing the gap between where the exhaust is attached and where the gromet is attached to the frame, correct?
