Since your car is probably out of waranty, the dealer would have probably charged you to read the code. If it is under warranty you should have taken it to the dealer and it would have been covered.

As to the reset-and-SES-light-not-comming-on, I have seen it. I went to the dealer with an SES, detected as a fuel level sender error. The dealer reset it and in the 2 weeks between the reset and the fix, the SES never came back on.

Re: idol speed sensor

When the SES light comes on, the computer spits a diagnostic code.
Your mechanic would've read the code ( maybe it was the Idle speed sensor ... maybe not ! ).
See if you can get the code from the mechanic -

If you post the code here, someone might be able to give you more specific answers.

The SES light comes on for numerous things - that's why there is usually an associated code.

I am back again to bother you people

I spoke to my mechanic about Idle speed sensor part and he told me it will cost about 130 dollars ....is that a reasonable price?

Thanks again
