Whoa. I was over at VQPower.com today and decided to participate in a poll they were running about how much you've spent on your Maxima. I looked at my homepage for all my mods and started adding up the costs. When I got finished (all I could remember), the total came out to be over $7500.00. And I haven't even put on rims or a body kit yet. So I'm curious, how long have you had your car and how much money have you spent on it? Don't include the cost of the car itself, only the mods.

I've had my car since November 2001 and have spent over $7500.00.

When you start modding who said the the car is worth more? It always ends up being worth less than what youve spent.

I did some stupid things, like installing illegal tint 2 times and ending up removing it. Then fogs, the local "performance" shop ripped me off by installing some BS, which I ended up breaking with my own foot. The stereo, my car was vandalized so I ended up getting another H/U and replacing all speakers and wiring. I could have done much better for almost 4 grand.

 

I don't even wanna think what I wasted on my cars.....

All I know is this, this car will be my first with very little mods done. I gotta move on in life. There's gotta be more to life than just dumping endless amounts of cash onto a car that will ultimately depreciate.

 

Man am I upset at this thread...I wish I would have just paid it toward the car, so I could get something different by now.

Yet to do, possible speakers and/or HU, and possibly a very light tint. Yep, I've dumped money into cars in the past, but when you do the math of $20K for car, $10K for mods, and end up selling it for $14K, that's a BIG hit.

I'm not knocking anyone here. I'm older than the rest, have my first child on the way, so like the earlier poster, your priorities have to change at some point.
