Transmission fluid - Amsoil vs. Redline?

Any major differences between Amsoil and Redline? Pros and Cons? Which one is better? Thanks!

Generally, AMSOIL's main goal is protection, Redline's is pushing limits in terms of performance.

Amsoil ATF will last up to 3x longer than conventional. It is a safe bet that it will last 60k miles under normal driving conditions. I will let you know when I get to 90k, changed at 30k currently 45k miles. Redline does not make any allowance for extended drain intervals (over 30k miles) with their fluids.

The key to Amsoil products is the extended intervals make it the best value $$$ proposition.

If I were a racer or had a high pressure turbo/sc, I would use Redline's oil products. I do use their fuel system cleaner and Water wetter. These are the only mass market products they sell.

(1st off, I LOVE Volvo C70's) 2nd... I've used redline and definately feel the smoother operation of the tranny. Never used Amsoil but have had redline in my tranny for over 20K and it's been fine.

That's a tough call. I own a high pressure turbo so naturally you say Redline. But I want longevity and so it's Amsoil, looks like it's a toss up. I guess the main factor for me would be cost. Which one is cheaper and where are the best places to get them (both)? THanks!

I use only mobile 1 full/try synthetic for my engine, It's cheap at costco and it's the only company that makes their own oil. (besides amsoil and redline)

Don't use the tri-synthetic from Mobil 1. Simply, it sucks. Use their Supersyn. It's an extra $2-3 for a 4L jug, but it's worth it. But at those prices, you might as well use AMSOIL.

I ordered 3 bottles since the 6-speed hold 2.5
$7.00ea bottle + $5.58 shipping = $26.58 total (no tax)

My question is about TRANSMISSION fluid. I'm aleady using Supersyn for my oil (Tri-synthetic sucked IMO). I guess it comes down to cost since both have their valid points.

You won't go wrong with Redline or Amsoil. Both of them work well beyond the temperature range coventional ATF can handle. Amsoil's ATF is slanted more towards wear protection and will have no problem handling a high performance application. It's even easy to get if you know/contact the right member here

You don't HAVE to replace anything. Things just tend to last longer when you take care of them. For a manual transmission driven normally with MTL in it, every 60k is a good number to use.
