Yeah, I've been wanting to get those indiglo door sills, but I just knew that they wouldn't come with any instructions worth damn, so I've been holding out. I'm sure that a lot of us are in the same boat. It'll be great if someone did a write up on this.

I would tap the fuse for the dome lights, so it goes on and off when a door is open and shut. No sense in it draining the battery when the door is closed.

You need to tap into the door light. Use a voltmeter to check which wire has the power.

install

I borrowed this from install

These indiglo door sills dress up the interior of your Maxima with their attractive stainless steel look. All four plates light up in the dark as shown below. Simply wire them to your headlights, door courtesy lights, any other source you desire them to light up with. Installation is easy and comes with complete installation instructions. Fits 2000-2003 Maximas only. Quantities are limited and will no longer be available once sold out.

Do the rear sills from custom maxima come with wiring so they actually do light up?

Most door switches complete the ground in a circuit. So, if you decide to use the door switch then you can pick any 12v power source and then just run the groung through the door switch. If i'm right, then the sill should only light up for the doors that are open and not the ones that are still closed. Sound good to anyone else?

I know this is an old post, but I was wondering if anyone figured this out? I would agree that the diagram that comes with the sills are lame. I have mine wired to a independant 12v power source and the grounds tapped into the door switches. The problem I have now is that the lights stay on all of the time, even the courtesy lights. I suspect that the sills are acting as an incomplete ground. Do I need to cut the origional ground wires to the switches instead of tapping them? I dont want to cut any original wiring unless I have to. anyone?

Mine did not come with an inverter either. I found a port in the fuze block that had 12v going to it, so I tapped into that for my power. If the door lights have 12v going to them let me know and I ll tap them instead.

Indiglo door sills

When running wire from Indiglo sill I used a coat hanger to fish it through the floor. That way you don't have to worry about it getting squished or exposed or something. I also used the ground from the black grommet switch near lock latch to turn power on a relay. Mine work fine and turn on and off with door switch. Will have pics posted soon.
