I was messing around with an integra yesterday afternoon. After few runs, we made a left turn to another street, he was behind me and he switched over to another lane and try to pass while I was keeping my RPM at 3000 for another boost. I gunned it when he was right next to me and the car down shifted to 5000. I was concentrating on him all the time and I didnt see there was two cops on the other side of the street and they were asking questions to the driver of a vehicle that they just pulled over. Once I saw them, I quickly let go of the pedal (bad mistake) and my BOV fired. Yup! with two cops (one on motorcycle) right across the street.



PSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTT and then followed by a long whistle ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

of course, that got the cops' attenttion and from my mirror, I saw them stopped talking to the driver and one of the cops even stepped out of the side walk to have a better look. I thought the cop on the bike was going to get me. But after going for a mile, the cop never showed up on my rear view mirror.

whew~ that was close and I should've stepped off the pedal slowly.

 

call me stupid but how would releasing the gas pedal cause the BOV to release pressure? i thought pressure builds up as engine RPM increases.

 

what do you think he was gonna give you a ticket for, reckless whistling?

 

i think when you release gas, your tb closes so the pressurised air cant go anywhere, thats why you need a bov.

 

Just as good a story as when I rev'ed and threw a BOV at a cop.

too funny..the officer was surprised and was looking past your Max to whatever car would possibly be so bold...

 

im sure the cop must have thought he was hearing things because he wouldnt think your max was boosted.

Last year at the "Greek-Fest" we have in LINY, I pulled up behind a guy riding a Ninja Motorcycle. The Greek-Fest is basically an event were tons of gals dress in swim-suits and walk around the street showing off so naturally guys.... drive through w/hooked up car and bikes to look cool also. Anyway... I pull up behind the guy w/the bike who is waiting to get on the parkway. There is also a group of about 10 Nassau County cops on foot monitoring the entrance to the parkway make sure no drunk driver from the fest get on the freeway... the biker sees a group of hotties and starts to rev his bike really loud.... The cops laugh. I hear this I start to Rev just as loud as the biker and my HKS-SSQ starts blowing off and is basically stealing the show!! The cops all looked at me and started whispering to each other in amazement... One of them even looked right at me and gave a nod of approval!! I didnt even know I could get in trouble for that stuff! I felt cool though!

how do you like the HKS super sequential bov? is it a nice loud sound? i'm debating on either that, the blitz DD, or TXS RFL bov...what do you think? lol

Can they really check under your hood?

 

At our current status they could, the psst sound might cause confusion for the cops and they might think it is a nuclear bomb!

 

SC & Y-pipe passes emissions if you are using the right cat (well, mine did anyway ) The california emissions laws are a lot harsher though, how do you get around yours? (or is it the same -- passed w/turbo?)

 

SC kits for 99-2k1 Maximas have no CARB number (not street legal).

Haven't done smog with the turbo yet.

 

exhibition of power, disturbance of peace, intent of racing, excessively loud car noise... there were a couple of related posts here for people getting tickets for accelerating FAST off a stoplight and similar..

yup...that integra has a loud exhaust. I could know how much car length that I pulled off him just by hearing how far the exhaust is.

on the other hand...I still have stock exhaust.

ereet : I dont think that I will pass smog with the amount of fuel that I am shooting into the engine. my AFR is far below 10:1 from dyno last time. But I can take the belt off the pulleys and do a smog check. at least it will pass the test, but not the visual.

 

oh i want a turbo so badly, or just a dam BOV to go off when i shift but so hot to hear

 

I know, the awcifer (that's what I call them) was like a Maxima?? They don't have turbo there a family 4 door car, who'd want to dec them out??
