? about Nissan oil filter
I've been told that the Nissan 15208-9E000 oil filter is a good one to buy. Is the the stock oil filter that comes with the car?
Is this the one here?

Thanks

Re: ? about Nissan oil filter
I imagine you buy the filter from a Nissan dealer. Presumably they can tell you the correct part number for yer model. :-)
Nissan uses Nissan filters on Maximas.
The Nissan filters do look a lot better than the aftermarket ones I have looked at. They also look significantly different from the aftermarket filters.
E.g.: the STP is a bit shorter, with a differen pattern of holes ..etc. The bypass valve looks totally different too.
My dealer gives me a price break on a case of 10 filters. I Get them at $4.30 ea.

Scroll back a few pages, there was just a thread about this. One of the moderators posted the part number for the best Nissan filter that you can buy for the VQ. Some of them have cardboard in them, some of them don't. You want to get the ones without cardboard.

Looks like you got the good one, here is bill99gxe's answer from the thread a couple days ago...

The 15208-9E000 is the original VQ filter and should be used in all VQs due to its much better construction quality. Cost isn't any different either.
This was a cost cutting production move by Nissan.

I need some of these. Where did you order them from? Online or did you go to your local dealer?
I found these numbers on the Courtesy Nissan page:
15208-00006
15208-00001
Or look here: http://www.courtesyparts.com/A33_tuneup.html
Is the 9E000 one of these numbers?
