1996 Max SE "R" emblem

I am trying to determine what the "R" emblem denotes on a 96 max se 5spd. I blv its a ltd or anniv edtn? Help?

AFAIK, nothing.
Just an aftermarket emblem.

"R" on a Maxima stands for Rice.

"R" stands for retarded. Why do people think it's cool to put dumb emblems on their car? The letters "R, Z, V, X" are not cool to put on your car if it means absolutely nothing. Just my 2cents
