Many problems: RSB brackets, sensors, could my day get worse?
Many problems: RSB brackets, sensors, could my day get worse?
Okay so I FINALLY got in the new Cattman/Progress RSB, and what do you know? The trailing arm brackets are totally wrong. No go. The car's rear was on ramps, so I go to pull the car down off the ramps and CRANKCRANKCRANKCRANKCRANKCRANK nothing. Sweet nectar. Jack up sides of car, pull out ramps, put car on ground, wait. start car. CRANKCRANKCRANKCRANKCRANK nothing. Wait. CRANKCRANKCRANKstart.
Pull code. 0101 Camshaft position sensor.
WTF. Car was running minty fine before this ramp episode. ANyone know if maybe oil level or something combined with angle would cause a problem? Going to go eat food now. Please if anyone has any idea...I will have to drop the car off tomorrow I guess.

not to be a ****. but id sell the ****. yep im saying sell it b/c these cars are way way too many problems. My thesis: ok me and you and everyone else on the org have the same problems.. Sensors , Sensors and More sensor problems.
Ive replaced all this just trying to get it to run right again, Knock Sensor, ECTS, ALL O2 sensors, fast idle sensors . Oh did i mention my car wont stay running now, Bad Coils. YOu See Once you fix that sensor i wouldnt be suprised if another does show up from your ecu, you can keep putting money somewhere or do something about it..
Personally Im retiring the Maxima, Its a Piece Of ****..
of course a somewhat fast POS, when it runs. resembles my old camaro.

ban bobjohnson lol. what a moron. you think just because you can't get a RSB installed the max is a piece of crap? Well go buy a ford and then see what a piece of turd really is. All cars have problems buddy. Even new cars.

yeah well, the car died on a minor test drive down the road. It was just flatbedded down to my dealership. I can only hope whatever is fubared is covered under my extended warrantee. I already was planning on selling the car. I'll fix it up all nice and part it out shortly. It is in great shape; sensors die, whatever. I have already been planning this.

no. they were the problem.the cut-out didn't follow the shape of the trailing arms. thus not sitting flush and not allowing propper installation. the bracket is supposed to sit flush against the arm and between the e-brake cable.this was not happening.
very frustrating.

another update, Nissan Corporate could not help me expedite the repair, so, despite an extended warrantee, I have to get the car towed to another, less busy dealership in the morning and hope they can repair the car.
car still not done.
Car will be for sale when it's running again. Assuming it's just the sensor, then it will be back in perfect running condition again if I ever get it back.
I will NEVER own another Nissan new enough to be serviced by Nissan ever again.

they finally scanned the car. camshaft position sensor (doi). $86 for part $20 overnite $70 for scan (which I did not want) $35 for install.
I despise, hate, want to kill Nissan service. How is this not covered under an extended warrantee? This is not a general wear and tear part. So yeah. I'm pretty fed up with this kind of service. Definitely can't wait to sell the car. I just don't have the income to support it right now.

It was a 15 min. job and your car would have been back on the road the same day.
what if it wasn't the SENSOR but an actual PROBLEM? god knows it was random enough.
at any rate, now the part won't be in until MAYBE tomorrow, MAYBE Monday. I am going to take this up (again) with Nissan Corporate.
