New pics of my car!

I just got done fully detailing my max. Ahhh the paint is so smooth and glossy. There isn't a swirl mark on the entire car. The Porter Cable 7424 is definitely worth it's weight in gold.

Check out my cardomain site, page 4. Here is a link:

http://www.cardomain.com/member_page...=317016&page=4

I also have a picture of my se gauges with the aluminum gauge bezel and chrome gauge rings. There is also an up close shot of my new rims, Kosei R/T Pentas, 17x75, weighing only 16 lbs. Not too shabby.

Enjoy the pictures.

Yeah...I first noticed that when I had them put on. But it really doesn't bother me anymore. Oh well...I like them because they are light and I love the finish.

As far as the Porter Cable 7424 it's the best machine polisher I have ever used. I've used a few of them from orbital buffers to rotary. The Porter ourperforms them all. I love it because it's virtually idiot proof as far as your finish goes. The only thing you gotta watch are the pads and make sure you keep them clean.

foodmanry,Thanks for the info regarding the Porter Cable 7424 polisher. How many uses can you get out of one polishing pad??? What's the proper way to keep the polishing pad clean??? I'm thinking of purchasing one of these.

Just keep the foam pads on the painted surfaces only, and make sure your car is totally clean before using the pad. It should keep the dirt out of the pad. As far as cleaning up, just rinse it with warm water until you see the water run clear. You have to squeeze it out a couple times, but not big deal as long as you clean it right after you use it so the polish, and/or wax doesn't harden.

www.topoftheline.com

It was a package deal...the buffer with a velcro backplate for easy pad changing, a cutting pad for oxidation, a polishing pad, and a finishing pad. Also a terry cloth bonnet, and a brush attachment. So you can basically do it all from cleaning your carpet and leather, to polishing your paint and applying waxes. I think the price is like $215 for the package deal.

I also got their microfiber towels. Those are sweet for buffing out the polish and wax too.

The steps I used were...

1. Wash the car (obvious).
2. Buff with 3M swirl remover for dark colored cars.
3. Buff with Meguire's show car glaze.
4. Apply two coats of P21s wax.

I am thinking of putting Klasse sealer on it sometime this weekend too to protect the shine. I took my time with it and made sure I covered everything and it was as perfect as I could be.

Ahhh someone noticed! Well when I had the trunk lid and spoiler repainted they forgot to paint that license plate holder. I just got it back a few days ago and haven't taken the time to put it in yet.

Hey for $150 I'll do your car,

Uhh...yeah if they come to me. I'm not about to go all over the country, haha. Although that would be sweet...meeting Maxima members in the US and even Canada.

That just gave me an idea....I could do group deals at certain destinations. Maybe 5 Maximas for $500 or $600.

Can you hear the slow shifting of my auto tranny too?

I think I'll stick to my current course with my job and grad school. Detail on the side whenever I can I suppose.

Agreed.

However, the rest of the car looks great. Nice cleaning job! I would love fresh shiny paint like that... but mine is 5 years old, so not a chance.
