Whats a fair price for my car?

I have a 2k Manual loaded with 49k miles on it. Edmunds said my car is worth 15,300. My car is in excellent condition and the only mods I would leave on are the clear corners and tints(cost around 260). I want to get 15K even for the car, what have you seen other 2k Maximas go for?????

depends on the condition allways... If yours is perfect, selling it yourself you might be able to make more than 15... or you could try www.carmax.com

My g/f bought a 2k GXE with 41k miles on it for $13k... I don't think you will be able to get anything over $14,500 for yours (depending on the model, condition, etc). Definitely want to be concerned about the clear corners... it takes away from the value of the car (stock) depending on who will buy it. Forget what Edmunds says... it is just a guide.

I say you ask for $15,000 OBO.

My car is in near mint condition. The interior is flawless and the exterior has one dent and the usual Maxima paint chips. Clear corners wont deduct from the value, nor will the tints. Remember, I have a fully loaded SE(only option I dont have is a auto), which adds to the value.

have a fully loaded anything doesn't ADD to the value... the value is based on the options and the model.

And clear corners will deduct if the person wants to buy OEM.

Mine has been on the market for over a month for $14,700. Loaded 5 speed SE, leather, 47K miles. Exterior and interior are flawless.

Yes a fully loaded vehicle adds to the overall value. Fully loaded means that I have every option. By your rational, my leather doesnt add to the value of my car Clear corners will not deduct from the value because frankly you have to be a Maxima Enthusiast to notice them. The average person WILL think that they are OEM.

Fully loaded means every option, yes. But the value of your vehicle is based on the model (SE) and the options (being loaded). The fact that it is an SE doesn't 'add' to the value... to the 'base' value of a Maxima, yes... but not to the overall value of a loaded SE.

-R

p.s. and what would you say to someone who noticed and asked to have the OEM corners that came with the car?

I dont understand what you were trying to say in your last sentence. About the corners, if someone noticed I would tell them they are aftermarket and tell them that I have the OEM ones sitting in my garage. The reason I dont want to take them off is because the rear ones are stuck in the bumper. I would have to take the whole bumper off to remove them.

Doesn't matter what we think it's worth. Only to what someone looking for a maxima wants to pay. No sense in arguing about it. It's not like this guy is gonna buy your car.

im not 100% sure, but i think that having a manual tranny will not help you sell your car. most people who want maximas prefer autos.

The internet sales manager at my dealer said that he finds manuals easier to sell because of their rarity. I would think that he is correct by taking into account the amount of manuals produced.

this is true yet it is also harder to find the buyer. however once you do it will be an easy sell.

15 sounds a tad high to me for my area (mid Iowa) I bought a 2002 SE 6 speed for 17K with 20K miles last month. Just throwing it out there to help you figure what the car is worth. I think Nissan's rebates really hurt resale value.

Just go to autotrader.com and you can look up what maximas are going for in your area and beyond pretty easy. Local paper will reveal what you can get also. Ultimately, you can only really get what others in the area are getting. Maybe slightly more if it's as mint as you say. But someone else needs to feel that the mintiness is worth it to them also. Basic economics.

I have a 2000 GLE and have it for sale on this site. It only has 20,000 miles on it and I'm asking $17,k.No one has responded yet. I won't sell for less.If your car is still nice{with only 49k on it,it should be} stand hard for yor price. You've still got a couple hundred thousand miles left on it!

Can't really argue with your choices. Hate to see ya leave the Maxima community, but you'll be happier. Go with the Z!
