Powder Coated 2k2 Intake Manifold

The color is called Black Minitex. The camera makes the texture look more rough than it really is.

That looks great! Powder coating is a great way to make OEM parts stand out from the crowd.

Did you get it extrude honed before you got it coated?

now if you needed service on the car, lets say, wouldn't the dealer refuse the service thinking your manifold was aftermarket considering the color change??

Who said they will ever see this? Especially not with the Pro Race fogger plumbed into it.

I've been thinking about getting a manifold from a junk yard and sending it out to get honed then putting a coating on it. Yours looks real good, they got very good coverage, from the pics it looks an even thickness.
I can't wait to see some finished pics after porting

Im not doing any porting on it. This thing is done except for the https://maxima.org/forums/showthread...hreadid=211284 . This one actually came from another .org member who purchased a VQ35 from a junkyard.

And I didn't send this anywhere to get coated. My brother and I did it ourselves.

My bad I should have said: "after tapping"

Well then YOU both did a very good job! Congrats. I guess that is what the kerosene heater is for
What did you use to get the static charge? And where did you buy the powder from?
Thanks for the info.

He actually has a complete setup in his garage and does this on the side. The kerosene heater has nothing to do with it.

Hey SR, have the motor mounts ever become in issue at the track with the slicks? I have no clue as to how much abuse they can take. I just hate the thunk! sound of broken mounts.
