does a 95 GLE have torque steer?
i was reading up on the 6th gen maxima's and they were talking about it's torque steer. I never heard the term and learned that it occurs in quick FWD cars. I've accelerated hard in my 95 but never really experienced any sideways steering, but maybe i just wasn't paying attention to it. do our cars have this problem at all?
not really noticable but it is there. get a y-pipe and you will know exactly what it is. when i got mine, the first time i drove it when i went wot at 4k rpm the wheel literally yanked out of my hands.
My car has mad torque steer.
More speed = more torque steer. It's due to the fact that our transmissions (like in most if not all FWD cars) are not centered, and the axles are different lengths.
WHen one cylinder is longer than another, (axle) spinning at the same rate, then the lighter/shorter one will tend to pull harder because of less resistance.
At least that's how I understand it.
