the sony stereo. it shuts off, and turns back on, and repeats the process until you can turn down the volume

sony is horrible, i suggest you get a new headunit, if you have the money after that, hit up new speakers,x-plods are horrible. I have infinity kappas hooked right to the bose amps in the back and it sounds great.

sounds more like a voltage drop problem. make sure the wires in the back are all of decent size and connected properly.

does this thing have amps and such hooked to it also, or just the head unit and speakers?

the speakers are the bose amplified speakers...i have been told that since the speakers are amplified, hooking an amplified deck to it would mess it up...but i dont know? so i was wondering what everyone thought..the speakers are amplified though, they have the connected amp to the speaker

dunno dude.. there's a lot of weird stuff that happens when you try to interface into the bose system. I suggest just buying new deck and speakers. stay away from anything made by, or related to Sony. you'll be a lot happier in the long run.

i believe bose runs on a differeant ohmage system, than normal stock car stereo systems. like the prior posts have said, sony is crap. what you have going on is, the you bose amps, and the hu amp is drawing too much power, and/or your deck just trips, like a circuit breaker. (not sure on this).

for the best results either definitly get new speakers, or just replace everything, hu, all 4 speakers. i had bose as well, and i also went ahead and rewired the car with new speaker wire...and a whole new system. i threw a 200w Pioneer HU in, and 3way pioneer speakers all around. all in all very pleased with the sound. also just to waste time i "pre-wired" the amp, and pre out lines just incase i might want to run subs in the near future.

if you do decide to get a new system, go with some brands like pioneer...alpine....or infinity speakers.
