I'm confused - what do you mean too little or too much? Sounds about right, but just check your dipstick...

In terms of idling rough - it really shouldn't make the car idle 'rough'... but in my experience there is a short "break-in" period when changing to synthetic without flushing - it's around 1500 miles... the conditioners in the synthetic end up cleaning all the seals, so to get rid of the junk make sure you change it again after 1500 then resume your normal change schedule.

What RPM are you idling at?

Well, I would change the filter and oil at the same time, but that's just me...

Absolutely change the filter at the same time...

And you should be idling around 700, not over 1k... getting your idle adjusted should help.

Cheers

its ok for it to idle over 1k if its cold but after it warms up it should be lower whether you are auto or manual. if its above 1k when its warmed up then i would take it to the dealer to have it adjusted via the consult 2.

at 30K, maybe you can try replacing your spark plugs. i hear a lot of people have said their idle and ride in general smoothed out very noticeably.
