Valvebody upgrade prob

i got the vb installed,just to make sure i could shift(carefully),
i got in the car and did the usual P-R-N-D-2-1
when i get to 1 it doesn't want to stay.
what did i miss?

What do you mean it doesn't want to stay?

Also, did you add enough fluid?

this was a dry run without the car started i am just clicking through before i put the pan on and the fluid in.
I'm wondering if a pin is set wrong.

The groove in the pin should be facing the rear of the car. That's the only pin to worry about

Did you get the spring on top of the VB lined up? Did you face the groove on the linkage pin towards the rear of the car?
Unless you missed one of these, everything should be fine.

Sorry it's not working. I know what a bi_tch it is to get that VB out.

o.k.--
after taking the pan off again,it was the pin,it wasn't lined up with the
shift linkage!
will finish it off tonight or tomorrow night.....the cooler is installed got it from advanced auto(equivilent to hayden 404)about $39.00
