I am having a lot of trouble launching my 96 5speed. I have intake, ypipe and 17s and my best 60' was a 2.38. Also I can't seem to trap more than 90. My highest speed was 89.96. What the hell is wrong with my max? I can post the slip if needed.

I posted this in the 1/4 mile forum but noone really looks in there so I had to post it hear to get some responses. Any feedback is helpful. Thanks

umm, a 2.38 is fairly good. i've seen some 2.6s with those mods. what type of tire are you running? and describe how you're launching it now. i just recently got a 5spd so i'm curious as to how to do a perfect launch as well.

 

I have 225/45r-17 Nankang Sport tires. They're not that great.

I've been to the track twice so far. The second time I went, all of my 60' were crap. 2.6, 2.5, 2.4. I just can't figure out an affective way to leave the line without bogging down and at the same time not spinning too much. I usually rev to 1.7-2k and dump the clutch at the same time flooring it.
