TIRE Qs...what to get? where to buy? treadwear rating?
SEARCH isnt working for me so give me a break and read...
Ive heard tirerack.com is the cheapest. Anywhere better? Should I check PepBoys or some place else for the tires I want or would that be a waste of time??
CLICK HERE to see the tires I am choosing between
thats the best i could do as far as a link... the tires I like right now: Sumitomo HTR Z II, Yokohama AVS ES100, Kumho ECSTA Supra 712
tell me what you think i should get and why.
also is 280 vs. 220 treadwear a huge difference?
ill never have to deal with snow cause i live in NJ in summer, GA from Aug to May....so if it gets cold but doesnt snow will summer tires still work well?

I was down the same choices as you... I went with the Yoko's just because nobody near me carried the Sumitomo's and hardly anyone would order them. This way if I need a replacement while in a jam I'd be sure they would have my tire in stock and have no problems.
I actually bought my Yoko's at America's Tire for cheaper than it would of been to buy the Sumitomos online, pay for shipping and pay for mounting. The Yoko's were $15/tire more expensive than the HTRZ II's on tirerack.com too!
Good tires so far... Only bad thing is the tread likes to pickup and throw rocks.

The real question is what do you want your tires for (dry, wet, snow, track, etc.) and how often do you want to replace them. If you want great dry tires and don't mind replacing them often (Treadwear 200) Falken Azenis Sports
are the tire you want. They're basically R compound tires for the street.
If you want more of a passenger tire the step down from the Azenis Sports are the Falken Azenis ST115.
After that I would pick Kumho Ecsta Supra 712s (which I currently have; Treadwear 280) which are good in the dry and really good in the wet.
