Otto Racing FSTB Installed (Pics)

well it took almost 3 weeks, but i finally got it,

install took less then 5 minutes, havent driven it yet, but so far it looks great, i am very impressed with the quality of the bar and mounting brackets, they are zinc coated which is great for long term use(no rust or corrosion)

i got it form procarparts.com, but their customer service is awful so i wouldn't reccomend anyone use them, cuz they dont know how to do business !!!

go drive it around those turns that you had to slow down for before and let me know if there's a big difference. I just bought one off ebay, i'm hoping its a big improvement. I hate slowing down to take turns while my friend in his bimmer is going twice the recommended speed.

The Otto Racing bar looks exactly like the Stillen.
I suspect these things are all made in the PRC (:-)
BTW you can still catch a Courtesy Nissan bar on EBay occasionally.

I picked one up for something like $30 + ship. Note that the ad says 2000-2002 Maximas. It did Fit my 2003 SE perfectly!
Yes, it makes a HUGE difference.

I got the same bar off eBay from procarparts a couple of weeks ago. I paid through Paypal and got the bar in a few days (minus the weekend). I removed the red and black Otto Racing logo with some paint thinner and then polished it with some Brasso.

The only thing is that this bar *looks* like the Stillen bar. The Otto bar is made from aluminium while I believe the Stillen bar (which I had on my 4th gen) is made from steel (or something harder/stiffer). But it seems to work fine.

Anyway, looks good!

Stillen FSTB is made from the same aluminum material that the OTTO is made from.

Great pics! You can really see the way the mounting brackets fit nicely. This is where some of the cheapo EBay FSTBs go wrong... the mounting brackets don't always fit snug... at least, not on one that I saw.

drive it in reverse there might be a nasty noise that mean the strut bar is touching the engine. i had this problem and still do i just drive really slow in reverse. if u do have this problem just take some washers and put it between the strut bar and the car and it shoud raise it a little bit

well looks great and trust me it hels a lot

The OTTO has a perfect fit, like a Stillen... no rubbing or noise.

Is your Max an automatic or a 6 speed?

Does it make a difference for engine clearance. I heard that 6 speed engines sit lower than the automatics????

I have an automatic and would like to know if it will clear?

thanks
