Key Fobs

Quick question for the experts out there. I am new to the Maxima Org but already the other posts and comments have been a big help. Have any of you bought an extra key fob for your car. And if you have how hard is it to program it to your car? Is it as easy getting the remote that resembles yours and programing it?

Yes, you can buy an additional OEM Nissan Fob but you need to have a dealership program it for you. The part is $85, you can order it from the link below

In my efforts to be a smart shopper I have been watching ebay for an extra fob and I gotta tell you. Those prices make it pretty tempting to buy and try to get them programed, but I appreciate the link, I probably should do it the right way and get one there. Thanks for the heads up.

I did exactly what you are doing now. I paid *I think* US$12 before shipping, and downloaded the programming instructions. From what i remember i had to reprogram my other Fobs while doing so..

Good luck...and have fun bidding.

Do it yourself!

Just do it!
I bought one from e-bay for $35 and programmed it myself. It seems a little confusing when you look at the instructions at first but after you try it, it's really easy and it'll save you a $75 programming fee visit at the dealership! If you can't find the instructions, let me know and i'll send them to you.

Peace,
Meth

instruction Link enclosed

I bought mine from an ebay'r- paid $23 for 2. It is my understanding that the FCC code on the back of the remote must match your present one. Good Luck. Tim.

I haven't bought a keyless remote for my Max, but I have for my Grand Cherokee and Explorer on EBay, and it's pretty damn easy to program, as long as you have the instructions.

Thanks for the into. I'm gonna do that e-bay thing, what the hell, can't lose. Hey Tim, how exact do the FCC id's need to be. Or do you just need the first few letter prefix's to match. I'm just going to get a couple and asume that being able to program up to 4 that I'll find a couple that will work.

I bought my 2k2 key fob off e-bay. I have the instructions to program it: easy and quick to do. Send me an e-mail and I'll send you the instructions.

blamb,
I really don't know. Several of the sellers on ebay said to check the FCC number. I bought 2 that matched exactly, they were used, and had been last used on an infiniti. That's all I know. Good Luck. Tim
