what brake fluid do you use?

for some reason i do not have permission to use the search....

anyway, what kind of brake fluid do you guys use and why? i hear that motul600 stuff is good for autoxing, but that's if you change your brake fluid often, as i hear it absorbs moisture. i will have to change my brakes soon, so i was thinking of the ATE superblue stuff, since it absorbs moisture at a very slow rate. any recommendations and why? thanks.

If you flush your fluid periodically you should be fine with just about any Dot 3 fluid.

I use GUNK heavy duty Dot 3. My fluid get flushed with every brake job.

Don't waste your money on the super-whoopie brake fluid with the stock brake system. Any regular name-brand DOT3 rated fluid is fine. I think I used Castrol last time.

I flush/refill my vehicles every 30 to 50k.....

Go to your local auto store and buy any Dot 4 fluid if you don't want to spend more than $5. After you leak your brake fluid, just top off the new brake fluid. Pump your brake and go top off your fluid again. You don't have to know extactly how much to put in like oil and tranny oil. All you need to do is top it off to the line for the brake fluid.

can i do this even if i am changing my brake lines? i have never done it before, so guess i was just assuming that i would completely replace all the fluid.

If you are going to autocross or drive the car hard, the ATE Superblue is perfect and well worth the money. I have yet to cook this stuff on the track. You will need to buy 2 liters.

Yes, ATE Superblue is great stuff for the bucks. (and it's a cool blue color!) The ATE TYP200 Gold fluid is exactly the same formula except that it's amber in color. Alternating colors makes it very easy to see when all the old fluid has been flushed out when changing fluid. One slight problem I've heard is that Superblue is not DOT approved(?) since they stipulate that brake fluid must be amber in color.

Most of the brake fluid I have seen has been clear, not amber.... I may be wrong though
