OT: Video surveillence

Well, my lil' 92 Stanza was broken into last night while parked outside my garage. The vandals tired stealing the cheap-*** CD player I had in it, but were unsucessful. This is the 2nd time they have attacked this car. Has anyone installed a video surveillence system or used one before?? I was thinking of getting some tiny cameras like the X10 cameras (http://www.x10.com), but I'm not sure if these are good or not. I plan on mounting them on the garage overhang to try to catch some video of the vandals. If anyone has any useful imput on this subject or suggestions for video surveillence, please reply.

I got this from TimW. I'm planning on putting this in soon to watch my cars...

the one by x10 is a very low end type of surveilance system, maybe you should just put one of those signs saying "24 hour surveilance" on your garage door

This was discussed a while back.

It can be done but doing it cheaply will result in poor video images that most likely won't identify the crook.

How about a motion activated light instead and maybe one of these planted next to it.

yep, why not get a motion activated light and aim the light onto the car. so if he gets anywhere near it, bam! he get hit by these lights.
