I tried them out today. Install was easy and by the book, and i feel like the front is being pushed down a little more now. Also the engine feels a lot different. More smooth in my opinion. Definetley worth a look and for 10 dollars definetley worth the money.

I have the vis cf hood and there is a gap in the front. Do you think that by doing the spacer mod it'll raid the front of the hood and close the gap a lil?

 

Yeah well i do believe that they could help with your carbon hood. Also by smoother, i cant really explain. It just feels different. Maybe the colder air is letting the engine run smoother. With my car usually it is far from smooth.

Well believe what you want. I think it make the hood look better from the front. Also i could use a good placebo every once in a while. If that is even what is happening. I know it does something.

 

but doesn't this raise the hood in the rear and leave an ugly gap?? I'm still confused on the whole deal...seems like another "F&F fad" rather than a decent cooling method. but hell, it was only $10 so who cares!

You know I was thinking about this mod the other day while I was driving.

I usually like to open my sunroof a tad and then crack open the back rear passenger window just a tad. It creates a vacuum of high and low pressure and you'd be amazed at how much air circulation you actually get. It's better than turning on the A/C at times.

I'm just wondering if this has the same affect with the engine bay. Try it out and see for yourself. If you can get that much air to circulate in your engine bay I don't doubt it's beneficial.

 

Might be a little louder. Doesnt look ugly at all. I really do think that it lets hot air out like nismo said.

 

Must have pictures. I am picturing a mxima that looks like the hood isnt all the way closed.

 

 

The hood spacers probably help the car stay grounded considering that big a$$ wing you have.

Oh so your making fun of my car now huh. Shoot me for having something that is unique. I have never seen any other car with it. Also if you dont like the idea of hood spacers, just hit that little button at the top of your screen labeled back and dont waist our time.

Well your right it doesnt. But my point is i just made this thread to state an opinion. Not to post pictures are to get sarcasm.

 

All I can think of is So sad to think there's a Maxima running with a front end that looks like it's been in a mild fender bender.

I could see the car benefitting in two ways:
More air is flowing above the engine, so the intake manifold can be kept cooler, therefore a better air/feul charge is going into the VQ.

Also, because more air is rushing past the top of the engine, it may help to quiet down the noise of the intake. I don't know if anyone's noticed the differences between CAI and hybrid in terms of noise, but when I converted my car from a CAI to a Hybrid setup, I noticed a decent increase in intake noise. With the CAI, the air was rushing into the filter which was siting down below and in front of the front wheeel well. With the hybrid, the rush of air is right in front of me in that massive filter. It's not loud. Just noticable. The CAI could cruise in dead quiet. Not so with the hybrid.

Looks alot like a hood that doesn't fit to me. Also looks like about 4 washers would have the same effect.

What's the theory behind this again I'm confused... how in the world does this make your car run smoother?

You know..... it's probably pretty easy to rip that rubber insulation off where the hood meets the winshield, and it would have the same effect as this mod, except no "lifted" hood. And it would save $10
