Looking at the retail pricing of the products:

Vortech head s-trim unit $1650
Air-to-air intercooler with plumbing $800
Brackets, plenum, hardware, etc. ~$600 gives us plenty of room if we miss something.

We are going to try it with the Eaton blower in place and with a plenum in place of the
blower and compare dyno results. We are going to run the Eaton as low as possible and run
the s-trim at 8-10 psi.

$3000 is right in line. Keep in mind these motors already have a high capacity fuel system, a
seperate serpentine drive for the blower, etc. where as a stanard blower kit adds all of
these things to the cost.

twin s/c's?

Never heard of this...How common is this? Are there any stock cars that come with this? Sounds like it woudl really tear apart an engine not built for it to me, especially a Pontiac...My mom has a Montana and EVERYTHING breaks on them. lol, but if they do get it to work can I strap them on her minivan? I bet it's got the same engine...j/p of course.

This is kind of common

This has been done in the Mustang scene. Not that it is that common but people have done it before. What they do is put on double blowers for better boost. They get better boost by running the SC's at lower boost levels than they are supposed to be which will heat up the incoming air less. Less boost from each blower = less heat = more hp + more $$$. More than likely these guys are running really low boost to be able to run both SC's at one time. They could run the SC's at higher boost levels but they would have to build the bottom end of their engine with some low compressoin pistons to be able to handle the boost that the double SC setup would make. If you are running the double SC setup at low boost numbers on each blower is more for show than for go. You could run double SC's but more than likely you would go with a setup that uses a more efficient SC with an aftercooler/intercooler or NOS injection to cool down the intake air.
