is chirping shifts and jerky shifting bad for the car?

I have been chirping my 2-3 shifts lately...what exactly is that wearing? I am guessing the clutch is taking a beating because of this? What about if I shift and the car jerks a little, what is that wearing? I am guessing the tranny mounts, or is there something else?
Thanks

youre chirping the 2-3 shift? my first thought was you had a supercharger, but youre totally stock? something doesn't sound right there, is your car a factory freak?

Yeah I did chirp my 2-3 shift...I think I let go of the clutch too fast however to have that happen...I think I am going to f*ck up my ride....so I am going to go back to granny shifting at 2200 rpms unless I am at a track.

nope.

combination of good tires, clutch that grabs way too hard, and my fast as hell shifting.

im not saying it was huge. but it did chirp.

be ready to buy a new tranny if you keep that up for long.

it'll ruin engine mounts, tranny mounts, the tranny, clutch, flywheel.. can even mess up bearings in the engine from the severe load it puts on the crankshaft....
not to mention tires, axles, wheel bearings, etc etc.

you don't have to granny shift at 2200, but you do need to be nicer to the tranny. there's nothing wrong with running the RPM up and shifting higher, as long as you're not banging gears like that. smoooooth is the key. chicks dig it and so do cars.

yeah i know its definitely not good for anything on the car. engine mounts might be a problem for me in the very near future. but hey if you wanna play, you gotta pay. im not tryin to be easy on my car at the track.

Ahem, brutha. I think this is why I'm still able to drive and race on my stock 95K mile clutch with God knows how many 1/4 mile passes.

..meaning popping the clutch, etc? I did it a few times when i was learning on my friends car, but ive gotten better; especially since i have to granny-drive my car for awhile once the swap is done

dam i wish avis, hertz, etc would rent out manual cars

Well I have no performance mods...I must have been imagining chirping 3-4 shift, because it is really the 2-3 shift. Anyhow I am a lot better in my shifting now and rarely jerk the car.

Yeah I used to get really annoyed with my self when I jerked the car....the thing is when I first was trying to be smooth I left my foot on the clutch longer than I should have. Now I can pop in and out of the clutch in a blink of an eye which is good I suppose without jerking the car at all. Also I hear that shifting too low (like below 1500rpms ) is not good for the car. Do you concur?
