To anyone with a painted grill...

I've been thinking about painting my stock grill since I don't like either of my options (Trenz, Grill-tech) with an aftermarket grill. To anyone who has done this, I have a couple questions...

1) Did you paint it yourself of have it painted somewhere? It looks like it will cost between $50-$75 to get a spray can of matching white paint and clear coat shipped to me. Then I have to worry about doing it myself, not messing it up, and hoping that the paint really matches like the website says it will. I'm thinking a dealership will probably paint it for me for around $50-$75, if not less. I've already had a small touch-up done at the dealership so I know their paint matches 100%.

2) Does it chip easily once it's painted? Is there anything I can put on after the paint, a special clear coat or something, to protect it from chipping?

Thanks for any input.

if you want it to look good and match, let a body shop paint it..... if they give a good enough coat or multiple coats, it shouldn't chip

(make sure to wax it too)
