Another blown tranny.. 5pd :(
Well this would be the second blown tranny.. First it was my auto... Now it's the 5spd.. On the auto all my bands were ripped to shreds. On the 5spd my syncro's went bad. Still drivable but I have to granny shift to avoid gears locking.
So my option now.. It's in the shop right now. What I'll probably have done is cyro treat all the gears and syncro's.. And possibly if it takes less then one week have some engery friction syncros put it. It'll allow you to shift faster without worry about the syncro's, they be able to speeed up faster and catch better. These have to be custom made so we'll see what happens..
For the week though I have a beater. 2k3 spyder convertible.. It's a nice car but it's still slow compared to the max

When I bought the tranny for the conversion it had about 35K on it. It was in an accident too. Got hit from the front. I think one of the axles pushed into the tranny too. So I dunno if that had anything to do with it. Because it's been really notchy ever since I got it and it's been hard to shift into gears sometime. I guess the syncro's finally gave out now. Hopefully the cyro treatment of everything won't be too much..
