Pilot Sport A/S 235/50 and 225/50

the difference in diamater is .5 inches but the 235/50 are pretty big, would that affect my acceleration adding more weight to the wheels by putting the 235/50 rather then the 225/50?...is it somethign that i can notice when i accelerate?

another question, should i go maybe with the 235/45 Pilot sport A/S since i got a little bit of a drop with the H&Rs?

It shouldnt matter. The speedometer will be a bit off, but it's okay as long as you dont get 245/40/17 or something more extreme. LoL.

Have you actually got weight figures on the two sizes?

not really, but its adding .5 inch of thread in diamater, not talking about the width and weight plus multiply that by 4.

the 235/50 will fill all the gaps and the car will look good, but then it will sometimes look like a tractor. with the 225/50, it will look a little bit small, and the 235/45 will be wide and lower profile hence better performence and will look good on a dropped car.

the only problem is, 235/45 are not recommended
so i think i'll go with the 235/50 i guess

i had 235/50 on stock wheels and i did not notice any worse acceleration but i imagine they would add a little weight. i was just so happy to get new tires. ive still got the 235 but on konig 7.5 wheels now with maxspeeds. when i replace them, i plan on going with 235/45 because they tend to swallow up the rim but if i still had the stock rim i would go for the 235/50.

I would go for 235/50 if you don't plan on dropping the car, otherwise with H&R's I would keep 225/50. One benny to 235/50, or 235/45 is they tend to protect the stock rims better.

235/50 will not rub with maxspeeds which is a pretty similar drop to h&r.

Why is 235/45 not recommended and 235/50 is for stock 17" rim?

i know one reason is load rating. if you look on tirerack in the specs, they show the smallest acceptable rim for 235/45 is 7.5. plenty of people run 225/45 and 235/45 on stock rims with no issues that i am aware of.

I love mine...Pilot... I went with stock size. Garret from Tire Rack said changing the 50 to 45 could mess up da traction control on mine if I didn't change da rim to 18"

going to a 45 series wont mess up traction control on an auto. i think garret wanted to sell you tires and rims.
