5th gen se wheels chromed out

does anybody have pix of a 2k-2k3 max se with the stock rims chromed? im thinking about chroming my 2k2 se wheels and id like to see how it looks. how well does aftermarket chroming hold up? i can get each rim done for $50 and i might do it pending on the pix.

Be careful with aftermarket dipping. From what I understand, you might run into problems with the finish in the long run.

yeah. i hear ya. i heard it flakes off but for $50 a rim its a decent price. how much weight would chrome add to each rim?

slickrick,The max that is shown with "Chrome Dipped" rims is an actual car that is for sale on eBay. No photo-chop.

talked to a local shop here in syracuse, and the guy told me 300 bills! he said the places that are charging 50-150 aren not doing a "proper" plating... they are essentially skipping a step and thus you lose the luster and depth in the reflection. that is just what he said. i dont know about you, but the wheels that were posted look pretty damn nice.

i believe what you are looking for is Titanium edition rims.

look for them on Ebay, and you can sell your old ones

lol. thats ridiculas. think about it... 300 per rim. how much are 17" chrome rims in general? why would anyone pay 300 per rim when they can go out and buy a whole new set of rims for that price if not lower. and the $50 i was quoted was because i have hookups at locations here, thats obviously not the normal price. its nice when people owe you favors.

ive looked at those and they look sick. but im a little concerned with weight. however, look at the price.. alot cheaper than $300 per wheel just to chrome.
