Actually, I believe the size all around is 6.75", 6.5 will work too though.

First off please pm if you are talking about upgrading stereo equipment. You don't want sound in the rear. Do you go to a concert and turn your back to the stage. i thought so. trust me. i'm in to high end car audio. i can help you. or i can sell you my bose system which is ****. let me know you wont' be disapointed.

If your into high end audio, you should realize you can't just have front speakers.
it all depends on what you are going for, if you want a good stage and SQ, then rear speakers are a no-no(maybe some mid-bass speakers, but even those). But if you want to go loud and don’t care about SQ then speakers in the back are no issue. As for subs, anything under 100Hz is not directional so you can’t tell if its behind you or in front of you, so having them in the trunk is fine.

Actually you can only run with front speakers, rear speakers are purely rear fill aka mid range. If you are getting good mid range from your fronts then you can run without rear speakers no problems.

My Setup:

Diamond Audio Motorsports (front)
Diamond Audio Hex (rear)
ID Max D4 (sub)

My Cousin's Setup:

Diamond Audio Hex (front)
Audiomobile (sub)

My Other Cousin Setup:

Diamond Audio Hex (front)
ID Max D4 (sub)

The Diamond Audio Hex have better mid range than the Motorsports so they chose not to run with a rear speaker, howeever i took my mid bass from my hex in the rear.

I have a little more definition in my Front Stage but otherwise the cars sound pretty much the same.

To keep it to the original Topic:

stock speakers are 6.5S aka 6 3/4, but you can get away with 6.5

6 3/4 all around will be direct swap, 6 1/2 will need deeper cut for speaker to fit and 6 flat even deeper. Any smaller than 6 needs fitting rings. go with 6 3/4 for direct swap.
